Elin Christopherson
Christopherson earned her BFA degree from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 1989 and her MFA from the New York State School of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2001. She worked as a glass technician at the Pratt Fine Arts Center for four years, and participates in glass blowing demonstrations and lectures across the country.
Christopherson’s goal is to “seek out certain elements that I believe are overlooked, to reuse, and celebrate the intrinsic worth of these hidden elements in the health of both human and natural systems.” Christopherson is very conscious of our society’s responsibility to the Earth, and often salvages natural materials and to incorporate into her work.
The Foster/White Gallery has represented Christopherson since 1997. She is the recipient of several awards and honors including scholarships from the Pilchuck School of Glass, and an artist residency at the Tacoma Museum of Glass.
